Setting up Equipment

For our video, we used four pieces of equipment: a camera, a tripod, a green screen, and a microphone. The footage was filmed using the camera on top of the tripod, and the green screen was used so that our footage could be chroma keyed. After we had filmed the footage, we recorded the drone's audio with the microphone. All of this equipment except the microphone was borrowed from Long Road's equipment department. In terms of costumes and props, Alfie (the actor) made sure to wear the same clothing for both of the days we filmed, so that everything would look consistent - the costume he wore was casual clothes to fit the role of a normal person unexpectedly under attack. The only physical prop we used was the "pill" that Alfie took. It was a piece of chewing gum - we thought that would work better than using an actual pill that could have an effect on our actor. We only filmed that scene once, so there were no problems with consistency then.

Following Safe Working Practices

We were filming our video in COVID-19 conditions, so as a result we had to follow the restrictions that accompanied it. During filming, everyone wore face masks excluding Alfie, who removed his mask whenever the camera started rolling. All of the equipment we used was sanitised before and after we used it. Any work we did in a classroom, we had masks on for, the rest of our work was done at home following social distancing rules.

Video

As a group, we decided to use Joshua's pre-production work to make our visual effects footage.

Following Production Processes

We followed the script word to word, with one minor exception where the syntax changed in Alfie's performance. It wasn't a major issue or change, so to save time we left it in. The storyboard was referenced for all of the shots we took, however when it came to making our own edits, we all made our own decisions of how to order it. The same thing applies to other aspects of our videos, including the designs of our drones, HUDs, and green screens.
